(6 weeks-6months)

Infants

The newborn/infant stage is a fun but fast stage of life.  Your babies grow so fast and we want to help build that fast developing brain.  Your infant is very special to us here at BBELC.  In addition to providing a safe and loving environment, we will also focus on:

  • Learning Through Play

  • Cognitive Development

  • Language Development

  • Physical Development

  • Social/Emotional Development

  • Spiritual Development

We will use multiple different toys as well as tummy time and soft play items to foster the development of your infant.  It is our goal to work together with you to help your child achieve their milestones on time and excel in their learning.

The staff will work hard to develop strong relationships with your babies through one-on-one interactions and responsive care.  For optimal physical development, your baby needs to move.  We will limit time in confining equipment such as swings, bouncers, and exer-saucers.  There will be a focus on grasping items, rolling, and sitting with assistance.  Tummy time and floor play is encouraged many times throughout the day.

Creepers

(6months-12 months)

Our “Creepers” are movers, and they are ready to explore more of their world.  This age enjoys exploring the world around them and developing strong bonds with caregivers.  In addition to providing a safe and loving environment, we will also focus on:

  • Learning Through Play

  • Cognitive Development

  • Language Development

  • Physical Development

  • Social/Emotional Development

  • Spiritual Development

  • Music and Movement

We will have a colorful and inviting environment for the children to explore.  The room will be filled with lots of fun toys and sensory opportunities.  Play is a very important part of learning at this age.  From colors and textures to climbing toys and play food, our “Creepers” will enjoy learning through play.

Children begin to show affection to friends at this age and develop friendships.  It is our goal to foster these relationships and help them grow into lifelong friendships.  At this age your child will begin to learn their friends’ names and respond to their own.  The staff will work hard to introduce sign language to help them communicate their needs.
There will be a focus on sitting independently, pulling up, crawling, and starting to feed themselves.  This is a very fun and active age, and we cannot wait to partner with you to reach those milestones.

Toddlers

(1-2 Years Old)

The toddler age is when children begin to want to explore the world on their own.  This is also the age of wonder, and they often learn from imitating others.  As they learn, they develop more confidence in themselves.  In addition to providing a safe and loving environment, we will also focus on:

  • Learning Through Play

  • Cognitive Development

  • Language Development

  • Physical Development

  • Social/Emotional Development

  • Spiritual Development

  • Music and Movement

  • Increased Outdoor Play

In this room we begin to introduce learning centers.  This means that areas of play will be set up for learning opportunities.  Naming familiar objects is also something that Toddlers enjoy doing.  Teachers will incorporate this into their circle times.

We will develop language skills by repeating and naming people or things in our classroom.  We will also expand our sign language skills and use simple songs to help with words as well.  Toddlers begin to do some amazing things at this age.  They begin to walk well on their own and have mastered feeding themselves.

Sharing is not usually very high on the list of things they enjoy but we will encourage cooperative play and sharing.  We will also spend more time outside exploring the beautiful world that God has made.
